Securing personal belongings and protecting special collections As this major urban library underwent a complete interior renovation, staff wanted to improve public access to the expanded special collections area while limiting the risk of lost or damaged collection items. They decided that prohibiting food and drink, bags, and backpacks would help protect collections, and they wanted to provide secure temporary storage for prohibited items near the special collections area.
